Mi 12X and Redmi K50 will launch with Android 11

According to the Xiaomi update policy, Xiaomi gives 2 or 3 Android updates to each device after the launch version. Xiaomi makes 3 or 4 Android updates for CPU bases. Xiaomi likes to kill the update life same CPU bases in the same version. The SM8250, (Snapdragon 865), firstly used on the Mi 10 series. It was used for the first time in Xiaomi with Android 10. Mi 10 series will get its final update with Android 12 or Android 13. Mi 10S, Redmi K40 and POCO F3 came out with Snapdragon 870 and that is again an SM8250 CPU.

They were introduced with Android 11 and its final update is planned as Android 13. According to this information, a device that comes out with Android 11 will receive its last update with Android 13. The reason for this is that Xiaomi does not want to make an extra version of Android to all SM8250 CPU-powered phones.
