Samsung fixes a WhatsApp bug with the latest update for Galaxy S21

The beta channel WhatsApp, these days is giving serious problems both on iOS and Android devices. But on smartphones updated to the latest version of the green robot, even the stable version is creating some headaches. The flagships of Samsung’s Galaxy S21 family were among the first devices to receive the update to Android 12 after Google brought it to its Pixels, and for this, I am the victim of a WhatsApp bug affecting videos.

Specifically, sending clips using the famous messaging app is spoiled by the appearance of green lines at the bottom of the videos. It is not clear who should take responsibility for this bug, and if it is therefore a problem with WhatsApp, with the Google operating system (since the problem also occurs on the Pixels), or to some extent both. The fact is that Samsung seems to have solved the issue with the release of a new update that brings the firmware version G99xBXXU3BUKG to Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The distribution of the package, which weighs about 330 MB, has started in Germany but over the last few hours has expanded to Austria, India, Nepal, Portugal, Spain, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. It is only a matter of time, therefore, before it also arrives at us.

The changelog refers to the usual, generic improvements in the stability and performance of the system and the resolution of some known bugs, as well as the introduction of some new or refined functions (without clarification, however).

In the meantime, however, the Sammobile colleagues have had the opportunity to test the update and confirm that it effectively resolves the problem related to sending videos via WhatsApp. Another point for Samsung, therefore, which once again proves to be timely in the interventions on the software side.
