Google Assistant offers a new way to enter driving mode

The history of Android Auto, both from the point of view of the pre-installed system on cars that support it and on Android smartphones, has always been rather troubled and Google has recently started a path that should stabilize things and make them better. Android Auto has in fact been integrated into Google Assistant where the driving mode can now be found. Until now this mode was only accessible via voice command but Big G is adding a new shortcut to put on the home screen that takes us directly to the guide mode.

In the last few days, some users have in fact reported the appearance of a new suggestion from Google Assistant. Once the guide mode is started we will find, at the bottom of the available apps tab, a prompt that will urge us to add the shortcut to the mode in question. Once you tap on the icon, we will be taken to the classic window for adding app shortcuts. On the home page, we will obviously find the icon depicting a stylized car that will open the Google Assistant driving mode.

Obviously, the shortcut fills a rather striking gap for the driving mode which is now even more easily accessible. Previously, in addition to voice commands, the function was launched every time we connected to the Bluetooth of the car or when the Assistant understood, through the movement of the car, that we were driving. However, the new shortcut is available for users with the Google app in beta version (12.47) released during this week. These small tricks bode well for a function that is undoubtedly essential for our Android smartphone to be more and more useful and functional.
