This confirmation corroborates what we already know about the company’s future top-of-the-range line: we know that two models will be launched, OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 10 , whose specifications are known thanks to rumors from leakers and specialized sites such as OnLeaks and 91Mobiles . Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on OnePlus 10: what to expect
The new hardware platform built by Qualcomm was unveiled a few days ago during the company’s annual summit where journalists, investors and partners are invited to test the company’s progress. Between field tests and keynotes, the most awaited moment was obviously that of the presentation of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The new name of the SoC, made with a 4 nm construction process in partnership with Samsung Foundry, already reveals the company’s will to give a cut to the past, detaching it from the “old” Snapdragon 888, of which it is however an evolution.
This octa-core platform features a new Cortex-X2-based Prime Core, combined with three Performance Cores and four Efficiency Cores, but it is above all the Image Signal Processor (ISP), modem and GPU that show substantial improvements. With the new 18-bit ISP it will be possible to record videos in 8K HDR and in HRD 10+ format, an absolute novelty in the mobile panorama, but not only: thanks to Snapdragon Sight technology, the dynamic range of the photographic sector will improve significantly, allowing you to capture and process 4,000 times more data than the previous generation.
On the gaming side, the Adreno next-gen GPU allows, according to the company, to improve graphics performance by 30% while reducing consumption by 25%: numbers so attractive that Qualcomm is working on a variant of its chipset – the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 – specifically designed for portable gaming devices à la Steam Deck.
Finally, the fourth generation Snapdragon X65 5G RF modem will ensure download speeds of up to 10 Gigabit while FastConnect 6900 Mobile Connectivity System will provide support for Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E networks, so as to guarantee remarkable performance in terms of connectivity both today and in the future. And all with an eye to design, which in some renders looks truly breathtaking.
We won’t even have to wait too long to see the OnePlus 10 and the OnePlus 10 Pro: according to the latest rumors, the launch could arrive in the coming months, at least for the Chinese market.
