Here’s how Google Chat changes

For a long time, the text box in Google Chat has been a simple field with a row of buttons underneath to access various tools while with the new interface these integrations to the various Workspace services are now hidden by default through a pill-shaped element. flanked by a “+” icon in a circle and shortcuts for emojis and gallery, as well as the submit button. Below is an image of the old interface and three of the new ones:

Tapping the first button brings up a tab that gives you access to Photos, Cameras, GIFs, Meet links, Google Calendar invitation, Drive and Format. The web version of Google Chat is also being optimized in these hours with new icons and a general improvement of the organization.

The team of the Mountain View giant is keen to highlight how this new interface allows users to take advantage of better integration between Google Chat and the various services of the Google Workspace suite, all accessible with a single click. The new design introduced by the developers of Google Chat is almost identical to that of Google Messages for Android and this uniformity should be appreciated by those who use both services of the Mountain View giant.

The new interface is already being released and within a couple of weeks, it will reach all Google Workspace customers both on Android and on the Web while those who use an iOS device will have to be patient until the first part of next year.
