Home Assistant is an open-source home automation app that allows you to control and manage all smart home devices. It is available on virtually all platforms including Windows, macOS, Linux, Raspberry Pi, and others. An Android app was released in 2019 and now the development team has rolled out a new update that adds support for Wear OS.
Home Assistant now supports Wear OS
The Home Assistant team just released a companion app for Wear OS that allows users to control their smart devices right from their wrist via their smartwatch. Users can log into the app using the smartwatch or by opening the Android app on their smartphone and then setting up Home Assistant.
The Favorites feature highlights the most used entities at the top of the app for easy access, with the ability to add or remove them from the Settings menu in the Wear OS app or Android app.
The Wear OS app also offers a tile to quickly activate or deactivate up to seven devices without having to open the app, plus the team is also working on adding a user interface to enable and disable sensors.
The application is currently in beta and the stable version is coming next year. The team explains that at the moment there are still some aspects to be finalized and some of the underlying libraries used have not yet received a stable version. The app Home Assistant is available in the Play Store of Google through the below badge.
