New York police took over two suspected tracking cases related to AirTag within one month

Apple’s AirTags once again made headlines because it was involved in a tracking incident. According to a report by the local news media WGRZ, officers from the West Seneca Police Department in New York warned that AirTags had been involved in two suspected tracking cases in the past month.

In the first case that occurred last month, a woman went to the West Seneca Police Station after a notice appeared on her iPhone that AirTag was moving with her. Subsequently, the police found an AirTag under the woman’s vehicle bumper.

In the second case, another woman received the same notification on her iPhone. She then went to the police station, but the police did not find AirTag in her car. The police believe that the two cases are not connected. Although they said that people have no reason to panic, they do hope to raise people’s awareness in this regard.

In addition, West Seneca police stated that they have subpoenaed Appleā€™s records to help them find out who was trying to track down the lady last month.
