Google Glass is as good as forgotten, at least for private customers. But Google is planning more new AR hardware for the future, as now established and world-famous sources surprisingly bring to light. Augmented reality is the big thing in the private sector for years to come.

Google offers Augmented Reality on the one hand with additional devices, but also on the Android phone in the mobile Google search, Google Maps and in some other mobile applications. There should still be new hardware.
Google is said to be working on a new hardware project for augmented reality, as the famous New York Times mentions almost in passing in an article. There are no more details for us. But it makes sense that Google wants to offer new hardware in this area as well. Because Apple, Meta and other companies from the Internet and the tech sector have long been working on their own hardware.
Some time ago, Google also bought North, a corresponding company. North could actively support Google in building AR hardware for Pixel or Nest. Google Glass, which is now rarely mentioned, is used in companies, but is no longer of interest to private users and has disappeared from the scene. Back then, Google was ahead of its time.
