According to a report, Apple may expand its service portfolio in 2022 to increase audiobook services. The report outlines Apple’s entry into the media field and its partnership with Netflix and Amazon. Efforts to compete with other companies.

The Economist detailed all of Apple’s existing services, such as Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple News+, Apple Arcade and Apple Fitness, and then mentioned possible audiobook products in one line.

Apart from mentioning audiobooks, The Economist did not disclose other details. It is not clear what Apple’s audiobook products might look like, but Apple is currently competing in podcasts and books.

Apple has sold audiobooks through its Apple Books App, but books are only sold in a one-time fashion and cannot be listened to indefinitely. And Amazon’s current Audible service, which provides monthly fee points for audiobooks and some “Audible Plus” content that does not require points, is a direction Apple may learn from.
