Samsung set up a Meta Universe concept booth at CES 2022

CES 2022 opened and this was originally the world’s largest consumer electronics show. Due to the epidemic, many major manufacturers have to retreat and have to adopt online + offline methods. It is precisely because of this that the concept of meta-universe was demonstrated at this CES.

Some media said that the Samsung virtual display part this time is a bit rough, but it can be regarded as allowing more people to understand the concept of meta-universe. On the first day of the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show, Samsung opened the virtual door to My House. The company has built a virtual home that can be accessed and customized through the Zepeto app, which is actually the popular meta-universe concept at the moment.

As the new crown epidemic once again swept the United States, the number of confirmed cases hit a new high, and many companies withdrew or reduced the offline part of this year’s CES exhibition. Therefore, Samsung’s approach seems to cater to the current demand.

Samsung started to establish a partnership with Zepeto developer Naver z as early as last August, and launched a game-like Galaxy House, with their own members as the main participants. But the CES version chose a more life scene experience: players can walk around in a fenced yard and enter a customizable home filled with Samsung products, such as freestyle projectors, custom vacuum cleaners, and The new TV.

Start from the front yard of the house, where you can interact with other people and visit different families. Different wall decorations and decorations, but the actual layout is the same for everyone: enter the living room from the front door, turn right into the kitchen, there are colorful custom appliances in the kitchen, and then turn right into an open laundry room. Finally, walk down the hall, where there is a study, bedroom and bathroom. There is also the entire front yard and back yard, but you can do nothing but sit down in a few places, on a tree roof (you can’t even go in).

I thought that this experience would have a lot of product information such as a real CES booth-but this time the virtual set makers seem to want these products to keep a low profile and focus on making your imagined home look like Instagram.

You can pick up a custom vacuum cleaner and run around, stand in front of an air purifier and enjoy the breeze, play video games on an unknown model TV in the living room, or play video games on a curved Samsung monitor in the office.

The animation on the display is a silly loop: your avatar will randomly type on the keyboard, and at the same time a looping video of a racing game will be displayed on an unknown Samsung curved display.

I like to listen to music while cleaning the kitchen with a vacuum cleaner, but I did not find the power supply for the Bixby speaker. You can choose Samsung Sero Rotating TV or Frame TV in the bedroom.

I really hope that Samsung’s CES 2022 experience will be more like the Galaxy House in August. That feeling is more like a product display than this kind of My House experience. Those who used to be more attractive than those who kept walking into the bathroom in My House.
