Tesla’s product design director Javier Verdura recently hinted on Twitter that Tesla will create its own brand gamepad, which can be used together with the onboard Arcade game function. Although Javier Verdura’s tweet does not have much substance, there is a point of view that Tesla has many advantages in developing its own brand of gamepads, one is the advancement of technology, and the other is the advancement of Tesla Arcade game functions.

Strong foreshadowing. Currently, the Tesla Arcade feature includes several games that require a gamepad, so it won’t be too long to fix the gamepad issue. At Tesla’s Plaid Delivery event last July, Tesla did show off a Tesla-branded gamepad for a video game demo. However, Tesla has never officially announced the relevant news, but it is believed that Musk has been considering the possibility of creating its own brand game controller.
For now, Tesla has not embarrassed owners on the issue of gamepad compatibility. Almost any gamepad with a USB port will work with Teslas, and several USB dongles have been used with Tesla vehicles in the past to create a wireless network inside the car.
Of course, Tesla’s gaming accessories still have some shortcomings, especially after using the USB-C port in the Model 3 and Model Y, many compatible devices previously required an additional adapter to use.
In addition, some car owners said that wireless gamepads only work in Model S and Model X, and some users said that wireless dongles are required to use wireless controllers. Perhaps after Tesla launches its own brand of the gamepad, these problems can be completely solved.
