$12K: Tesla FSD price will be adjusted on January 17

In the early hours of this morning, Tesla CEO Elon Musk publicly posted through a social platform that the price of Tesla’s fully self-driving system (FSD, FullSelf-Driving) will rise to $12,000 on January 17.

Although Tesla FSD is known as a fully automatic driving system, it is still unable to achieve true automatic driving. When using it, users must put their hands on the steering wheel and be ready to take over the vehicle at any time.

And from the feedback from many riders, the safety of Tesla FSD is not high, and some inexplicable accidents often occur. Many users say that it is very tasteless and unsafe. It should also be noted that, in addition to the price increase of the FSD autopilot system, not long ago, Tesla rushed to the last day of 2021 to officially adjust the prices of its models on its official website in China.

On December 31, Tesla China’s official website showed that the price of the Model 3 rear-wheel-drive version was adjusted to 265,652 yuan, an increase of 10,000 yuan from the previous price; the price of the Model Y rear-wheel-drive version was adjusted to 301,840 yuan, which was higher than the previous price. The price was increased by RMB 21,088.

At the same time, because the price of the Model Y rear-drive version exceeds 300,000 yuan, it means that the entire Tesla Model Y series will give up subsidies for China’s new energy promotion. At present, among the domestic Tesla models, only the Model 3 rear-wheel-drive version enjoys state subsidies.

Regarding this price adjustment, Tesla did not make a clear statement, but on November 24, Tesla has carried out a round of price adjustments, but the price adjustment amount is related to the change of the national new energy promotion subsidy standard.
