Recently, Cyberpunk 2077 game director Mateusz Kanik announced that he has left CDPR to become a freelancer. It’s over, it’s started again, he tweeted. Kanik has worked at CDPR for 15 years and is a senior developer. After joining CDPR in 2006, he started working as a game designer for The Witcher 1 and was also involved in the development of the canceled The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf.
Kanik was later promoted to lead game designer for The Witcher 2, and from 2012 to 2016 he led the development of Cyberpunk 2077.
