The Gmail app for iOS recently got an update. While Google didn’t mention it in the changelog, a second Gmail widget was introduced in the new version. The widget displays the last 3 messages received in your Gmail inbox, as well as a button to compose a new message. This widget joins existing widgets, showing a compose button, a search interface, and letting users know how many unread emails are in their inbox.
Unlike the previous version, the new widget displays a larger amount of information, providing the actual email content. The widget can be added next to the Today screen and other widgets or added to apps on the Home screen. To add a new gadget, long-press the home screen, tap the “+” button in the upper left corner and scroll down to Gmail.
