If you exclude Moto Edge X30, Mi 12 Pro which is the first sale of the mainstream smartphone Snapdragon 8 first generation. People have a certain curiosity about Qualcomm’s new high-end chip, both positive side, there is the negative side. Positive because we are talking about the first use of the SoC 4-nanometer manufacturing process, the so-called negative temperature problem.
This is before we have analyzed a story because millet is not the first person to use it, but Lenovo/Motorola. Since its debut, the Moto Edge X30 has quickly come under stress in benchmarks, underscoring that temperature management hasn’t improved.
Temperature issues have been bothering Qualcomm for a while: you may remember the issues you had with the Snapdragon 810 back in 2014. Recently, the Snapdragon 888 and 888+ have been pointed out that they cannot keep the temperature within a certain range.
Appropriate way. But if the Snap 810 is from TSMC, the latest 888 and 888+ are from Samsung Ian, and so is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Qualcomm would complain about this dynamic, choosing TSMC to produce what could become the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
But back in the present, after seeing what happened to the Moto Edge X30, how did the Snapdragon 12 Gen 12 on the Mi 8 and 1 Pro perform? Tell us that this is the first group of users who will have access to the new top-of-the-line product that Xiaomi has signed up for. Especially millet 12 Pro, we remember that it has an improved cooling system.
However, the results obtained from the first test conducted in temperature management seem not particularly exciting. For applications that use CPU throttling test, Mi 12 Pro seems to immediately enter the thermal throttling, almost the entire duration of the test (ie 60 minutes) performance is reduced to about 15%.

But it seems that for the Moto Edge X30, Xiaomi’s new flagship also seems to be affected by the high temperature of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
