When communicating with the media, AMD CEO Dr. Su Zifeng confirmed that in addition to Tesla Model S/X, Model 3/Y is also applying AMD-related technology products in the central control entertainment system.
Subsequently, AMD officials further stated that Tesla is using the Ryzen embedded chip with integrated RDNA2 GPU on the Model S/X, and has begun mass shipments of Model 3/Y models with integrated Ryzen embedded chips.
According to the in-vehicle information previously read by North American car owners on the new Model 3/Y, this new central control platform called MCU 3 uses a 4-core embedded chip composed of 12nm Zen+/Navi 23, replacing the old car-machine platform Intel A3950.
In addition, other changes in the new Model 3/Y include the replacement of 12V lead-acid batteries with lithium battery batteries, which are lighter in weight, the replacement cycle is extended from 2 years to 4 years, heated wipers, 13 speakers + subwoofer audio, etc.
