Gmail updated its art for people who achieving Inbox Zero

Google offers all Gmail users a range of options for organizing emails stored in the cloud and filing them in such a way that they can be found again quickly. The main goal of many people is to keep the inbox as empty as possible or even to empty it completely. If you are one of them, you can now look forward to a completely new graphic.

There should be people who are only satisfied when the inbox is completely empty and all e-mails have been answered, organized and archived. I’m definitely not one of them, but I was able to achieve this several times a few years ago. Anyone who has managed to do this with Gmail knows the graphic shown instead of an empty page. This was more artistic and used the corporate Memphis design, which is used by many companies in a wide variety of places.

On the left screenshot, you can see the graphic used for a long time and on the right the new image. It’s a completely different style and also goes in a completely different direction: Instead of having a person without eyes reading a book in nature, we now see empty colored boxes with a flag.

What that is supposed to represent is up to you. At first glance, it reminded me of an old Microsoft Office logo, but this is certainly not the intended intention. It’s a very small step and maybe the project of a new designer on the team, but even that can sometimes be seen as the beginning of a new style. Just keep your eyes peeled for more changes in the future.
