After a limited test of native support, the Mac application built by the network disk Dropbox for Apple Silicon chip is now available to all beta testers, according to MacRumors. Earlier this month, Dropbox began testing native Apple Silicon support with a small number of testers and promised to expand the test to all test users by the end of the month.

All Dropbox users who have Early Release enabled in their account preferences will now be able to use the native Apple Silicon app. On a support page, Dropbox said that Mac users with Apple Silicon chips can expect to receive the updated version within 24 hours after joining the early release program for their account.

In late 2021, Dropbox faced criticism over confusion about whether its clients would feature native Apple Silicon support, forcing customers on Apple’s latest Macs to use transpiled versions of apps built for Intel-based computers. Among Mac users, Dropbox has been criticized for being poorly optimized, resulting in excessive memory and battery usage.
