WhatsApp: Two-factor authentication soon for web/desktop

WhatsApp has long offered the option of protecting your account with two-factor authentication. This is to prevent your account from falling into the wrong hands should someone steal the SIM card from your phone.

The code is requested when activating the phone number on the smartphone and then again after a while to unlock the app so that you don’t forget the six-digit number code.

As found out at WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will soon also display the authentication in the desktop or web client in the settings, so that you can also manage your code and the stored email address there.

The feature is currently not yet activated, but could already be included in one of the next versions.
