Tesla Supercharger, in 2022 the power could rise up to 324 kW

Superchargers are an important added value that Tesla has always offered to its customers. Thanks to these fast-charging stations, the electric cars of the American manufacturer can travel long distances without problems and without having to depend in many cases on other infrastructures for charging electric cars. Over time, the automaker has improved its power supply points to reduce the charging times of its cars, especially newer ones like Model 3 and Model Y.

The V3 Superchargers, in particular, are capable of delivering a maximum power of 250 kW. Apparently, Tesla in 2022 could further increase the power delivered by these columns. According to a report, in North America, the manufacturer could bring V3 Superchargers to deliver power up to 324 kW by the end of the year. Subsequently, the debut of the V4 Superchargers would also be expected, of which, at the moment, there is no particular information.

Like all reports, this too must be taken with due caution. However, in the past Elon Musk had already talked about an upgrade of the current Superchargers. In particular, in July 2021 it announced a future power increase from 250 kW to 300 kW. However, no further information had come since. It is, therefore, possible that 2022 is really the year in which Superchargers will be able to take a further step forward.

It can be assumed that this upgrade may also be linked to the arrival of the new Model S and Model X. These cars reach a peak power of 250 kW during recharges but since they have a new battery pack it is possible that they can supply energy. even at higher powers. Furthermore, it is possible that this alleged update may be somehow related to the beginning of the installation of the Megachargers that will be used to power the Tesla Semi electric trucks.

On January 26, Elon Musk will provide an update to the Tesla product roadmap. Possible that the CEO also says something about the evolution of Supercharger stations. All that remains is to be patient and wait for further news.
