WhatsApp is testing custom wallpapers for voice calls

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will make custom wallpapers visible even during voice calls. The indiscretion, as already happened in the past, comes from WABetaInfo, a portal that has become a point of reference in relation to everything that revolves around the famous messaging app.

In this case, it would be a secondary novelty, but it would certainly contribute to improving the user experience of a service which, moreover, continues to be developed despite the already widespread diffusion.

As you can see from the screenshot, the voice call interface is actually enriched by the presence of custom wallpaper. It is not clear whether it will be possible to use two different backgrounds (one for the phone call and one for the chat) in relation to the same contact. However, keep in mind that, as this feature is under development, things may change before the final version is released.

Any timing for this release remains to be understood. The version object of the WABetaInfo preview is the one for iPhone, so it is not excluded that WhatsApp can give precedence to Apple smartphones. On the other hand, the large audience of the Android world has often pushed the messaging app to bring the various news first of all to the green robot. From this point of view, only time can give us an answer.

There is no doubt, however, that WhatsApp continues to refine its service. There remain some gaps compared to Telegram in terms of daily functionality, although the imminent arrival of the transfer of chats from Android and iOS will allow the Zuckerberg service to take an important step forward. We’ll see.
