Disney+ expanding to 42 more countries in summer 2022

Disney+ will launch in 42 more countries and 11 additional 11 territories in 2022. The streaming provider could thus collect many new subscribers in this way, even outside of markets such as the USA, Great Britain and Germany, where saturation is increasing.

Some of the new territories where Disney+ will launch include Poland, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Turkey, as well as Israel and South Africa. Previously, it had already spread to 64 countries. As in Germany, the new regions also start directly with their Star sub-brand, which bundles more content for adults – for example “The Walking Dead”. Disney+ was already on course for expansion in 2021 and started in South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Certainly, Disney+ also has the advantage of only offering one subscription level that directly integrates 4K, HDR/Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. In a direct comparison with Netflix, for example, you are even relatively cheap. Especially since Disney has a rich brand portfolio, which includes “The Simpsons”, Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar.
