Apple has also released a new beta version of macOS 12.3 for Mac users. This finally brings the promised feature of Universal Control to the end-user. But be careful before you update. We have already been informed that Dropbox will no longer work correctly with 12.3, and there is already a support page for it.

The release notes of macOS 12.3 confirm the whole thing. With the new version, a kernel extension is shelved, which is used by Dropbox and OneDrive to download online files on demand. OneDrive already has a beta client that uses the new implementation, Dropbox doesn’t yet. So be careful before you update.

The beta also brings a little more control over AirPods firmware updates. So far, the user has not been able to see whether new updates are available, let alone initiate an update manually. When analyzing the beta, 9to5mac came across a framework with which AirPods with old firmware can inform the user about updates. However, the update as such remains automatic.
