You can switch to Testflight and only have it tested by invitation, but that’s not the intended purpose of the platform. The App Store, on the other hand, makes the app discoverable for everyone. At least until today.

Apple announced on its developer website that it is now possible to push apps to the App Store and not have them publicly listed.

This gives the developer the option of allowing people to access the app directly via a link only. The search etc. does not show the product. As it stands, only certain organizations can make use of this variant so far.
