Tesla opens Superchargers to other electric cars also in Norway and France

Tesla is experimenting with opening up its Supercharger network to electric cars from other brands as well. As we know, the manufacturer had started with a pilot project in the Netherlands in November 2021.

Specifically, it had opened some stations for fast charging to all-electric. However, the carmaker had made it known that, over time, this pilot project would also be extended to other countries.

In December, news came that the American brand was discussing with the Norwegian authorities to open Superchargers to all other battery-powered cars in this country. Apparently, the discussions had a positive outcome.

In fact, the local press reported that electric cars of other brands were intercepted to recharge at Tesla’s Superchargers. In particular, a video shot by the local portal elbil24 (which we report in SOURCE) showed an Audi e-Tron in charge at a Supercharger near Oslo.

It seemed that it was only a test in view of a future opening so Tesla had not wanted to comment. Surprisingly, the manufacturer has recently intervened not only confirming the opening of Superchargers in Norway but also that the pilot program has also been extended to France.

With this announcement, the pilot program to open charging stations in Europe to third-party electricians takes an important step forward. The center of gravity of the power supply service, as we know, is the Tesla app. The charging session for non-Tesla users, in fact, is managed through this application.

Given the progress, one wonders when the time for Italy will come. All that remains is to wait for more information.
