Talking about the teardown of a traditional smartphone like Xiaomi 12 can be boring, while everything changes if the subject is a phone like OPPO Find N. The advent of foldable smartphones has introduced a certain curiosity about how manufacturers assemble them.
Years ago there was a Samsung teaser that thrilled tech buffs when at the time, leaflets looked like something out of science fiction. Now, these smartphones are slowly starting to spread and, with them, the related teardowns also begin to spread.
And when it comes to disassembly, JerryRigEverything is without a doubt the first choice on YouTube. Also handling a folding smartphone-like OPPO Find N is not easy at all, starting with disassembling the body.
Given its nature, the internal screen has an additional protective frame that protects the perimeter, to prevent the infiltration of dust and debris. By removing the display you can already notice something “anomalous”, that is the rubberized metal mesh that is underneath and protect the central part that is bent.
Like all other foldings, the OPPO Find N main panel also provides a permanent protective film to prevent possible damage. Nevertheless, this type of screen continues to be damaged with a certain simplicity. Immediately below the film is the Samsung UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) panel, able to bend with a certain radius but beyond which it fractures.
Proceeding with the teardown, another difficulty encountered with OPPO Find N is the removal of the rear body. Because of the textured glass, beautiful to look at due to its opaque effect but not very prone to the suction cups used for disassembly.
Once removed, there are many plastic protections against liquids, although the fold is not certified (Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the only one for now). The other intrinsic peculiarity of these terminals is the double battery divided for each section of the phone.
But the real surprise is found once the OPPO Find N has been completely broken down, that is the folding mechanism. According to the statements of OPPO, inside there is a set of 136 components with a tolerance of only 0.01 mm: a real work of technological art.
