Just over a month after the official presentation of OPPO Find N, the first folding smartphone from this manufacturer, there are new interesting previews of the company’s projects regarding devices equipped with screens that fold.
In particular, it seems that OPPO is preparing for the launch of its first folding smartphone with a clamshell form factor, that is a phone with a design that should recall, for example, that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G.

According to what was announced by the leaker Mukul Sharma, the Asian manufacturer plans to launch this smartphone on the market by the end of the third quarter of 2022, therefore by September.
Unfortunately, at present, there is no information on what could be the main features of the first folding smartphone with OPPO clamshell form factor but it seems that the manufacturer plans to offer it at a lower price than that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3. 5G.
At the moment it has not even been decided what its official name should be even if there seems to be no doubt that the device will be included in the OPPO Find series.
It also seems that OPPO is not only working on this folding model, as it would have already started developing another device of this type, a phone that should be launched on the market as a successor to OPPO Find N.
Unfortunately, even in this case, there are no advances on what could be its main characteristics nor is it clear when this device could make its debut on the market even if a patent recently obtained by the manufacturer could provide us with some ideas.
According to the documentation relating to the design patent application filed by OPPO with the CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration), the manufacturer has studied a solution based on the use of a double hinge.
The overall dimensions of the smartphone resemble those of OPPO Find N but the second hinge allows the rightmost part (where there is a triple camera) to be folded in the other direction. One thing, however, seems to be already certain: OPPO has decided to get serious in the folding smartphone sector.
