Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel can play some new stuff today, and Microsoft has announced that the new Windows 11 Media Player is now coming to your PC. This version of the player debuted as early as November 2021, replacing Groove Music and bringing a new design based on the features of Windows 11.

Windows 11 Media Player has a new media library, richer presentation of album art, and a cleaner progress bar along the bottom of the screen. Even better, everything in the Music and Video folders on your PC will automatically appear in the new media player’s library.

The new media player is rolling out to Windows Insiders in the Beta channel, and it shouldn’t be too long before it appears in the retail standard version of Windows 11. Microsoft confirmed this two days ago when it shared that Windows now serves 1.4 billion monthly active devices, mentioning that it will be coming this month with the new Notepad app.
