Oppo and OnePlus: Twin smartphones are coming

There will soon be fewer choices in the top price category. This is because the smartphones of the two brands are extremely similar. OnePlus introduced its new flagship smartphone a few weeks ago and Oppo will soon follow suit.

However, new leaks reveal that you don’t have to wait for the new Oppo top model. In the future, you can almost blindly reach for the shelf and you will have the right phone in your hand. OnePlus and Oppo are merging software and hardware more and more.

OnePlus or Oppo, it almost doesn’t matter

The datasheet of the Oppo Find X5 Pro should look like this:

  • 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display
  • LTPO, QHD+, 526ppi
  • up to 12 gigabytes of RAM memory
  • up to 256 gigabytes of UFS 3.1 storage
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor
  • 5,000 mAh battery
  • 80 watts with cable, wireless charging
  • 50-megapixel main camera (OIS, 1/1.56 inch)
  • 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle (OIS, 1/1.56 inch)
  • 13-megapixel telephoto camera (5x hybrid zoom)
  • 32-megapixel front camera
  • Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6, USB-C 3.1
  • Fingerprint sensor, face unlock, stereo speakers
  • 163.7 x 73.9 x 8.55mm, 218g

The trained eye will notice that the differences to the OnePlus 10 Pro are of a rather marginal nature. The cameras used are slightly different, but also optimized in collaboration with Hasselblad.

It remains to be seen how big the differences will be if you choose the Oppo top model or the OnePlus device. In any case, Oppo relies on its own chip for processing the photos, which could make the difference. WinFuture was not only able to find the data in advance but also various original images.

The only question left is which of the two brands offers the better prices and when the new devices will even be available in this country. A little more patience is required.
