In October last year, Google announced its latest smartphones, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. At the same time as the presentation, a new service called Pixel Pass was launched, initially reserved for US users only: now Big G intends to bring the Pixel Pass to Europe too, let’s find out the details together.
Google has applied to file the Pixel Pass trademark in Europe
Big G has started preparations to bring its subscription service, Pixel Pass, also to Europe: on February 7, 2022, Google LLC filed a trademark application with the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) for the name Pixel Pass.
The application contains the following description: Consumer subscription services, namely providing and managing bundled subscription packages to wireless mobile phones for calling and data plans, insurance and warranty services for mobile phones and consumer electronic devices, technical support services for mobile phones and devices consumer electronics and online digital content and multimedia services, including audiovisual content streaming subscription services; finance the purchase, replacement or upgrade of wireless telecommunication equipment and devices; repair and maintenance of mobile phones and consumer electronic devices.
We already know the characteristics of the subscription, by paying a monthly amount (currently unknown for Europe) you will receive a new Pixel smartphone, but you can also take advantage of numerous premium services such as YouTube Premium, YouTube Music Premium, Google One with 200 GB of cloud storage included, Google Play Pass with hundreds of games and apps, and Preferred Care for repairs and replacements included. Furthermore, it will be possible not only to choose to exchange the old device in possession, but it will also be possible to choose a new Pixel smartphone every two years.
At the moment there is no other information regarding the European Pixel Pass, but it cannot be ruled out that Google may release further information (and perhaps the service itself) in May, on the occasion of the Google I / O. This year, therefore, in the annual conference, in addition to the presentation of Pixel 6a and Pixel Watch, users could receive a welcome surprise.
