Edge 100 has landed in Dev channel

The Chromium-based Edge browser hit a major milestone today, with Version 100 being released via the Dev channel. Although the magnitude of this version update is not large, it brings significant changes to Linux users. In terms of new features, Linux users can finally log in with their work or school account by default.

Another new feature is a tweak to the Performance Center to see how many resources Sleeping Tabs save. The Edge 100 has been updated very lightly, so nothing has changed in terms of bug fixes or reliability and changed behavior. We’ve listed the full changelog for you below:

  • Fixed a crash when searching for words in PDFs.
  • Fixed a crash when logging into the browser.
  • Fixed a crash when using the guest mode window.
  • Fixed a crash when sending feedback.
  • Fixed the crash of Reward Center.
  • Fixed a crash when using Read Aloud on Mac.
  • Fixed hang when viewing tooltips or other popups hovering over IE mode tabs.
  • Changed the JavaScript share API to call the new share flyout when available.
  • Changed the launch boost feature to enable it even when there are conflicting extensions.
  • Fixed an issue where “Find on Page” would sometimes get stuck and not advance to the next match while iterating overall matches.
  • Fixed an issue where clicking on a misspelled word would sometimes not pop up the spell check suggestion card to fix it.
  • Fixed an issue where the setting to turn on system preferences for subtitles did not work.
  • Fixed an issue in the WebView2 application where the IsMuted property could not be set if the media was not playing.
