The latest beta version of Apple Music on Android may reveal the name of Apple’s upcoming indie classical music. In 2021, Apple acquired classical music streaming company Primephonic, which subsequently announced the closure of its own service on September 7, 2021.
Apple has begun working on several plans to improve the existing Apple Music service, and it plans to launch a standalone classical music product in 2022. Technology media 9to5Google found a piece of text in the code of Apple Music on the Android side, suggesting that this independent music may be called “Apple Classical”.
The appearance of the code also indicates that the music service may be launched in the near future. As always, it’s possible that “Apple Classical” is just a codename, and the name may be different at launch. Apple on Monday acquired AI Music, a London-based company that uses artificial intelligence to create bespoke dynamic music.
