Nintendo unexpectedly announced the successor to Wii Sports at today’s Nintendo face-to-face meeting. Nintendo says Nintendo Switch Sports will be coming to Switch on April 29. In the teaser, Nintendo also said it will add tennis, bowling, chambara, soccer, badminton, and volleyball content, including golf in a free update coming this fall.
Unlike previous entries in the series, such as the HD remake of Wii Sports Club, the upcoming game doesn’t include Miis. Ahead of its release in late April, Nintendo announced that it would be hosting an online playtest for Nintendo Switch Sports starting on February 18 and ending on February 20. However, only players with a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online will be able to enter the playtest.
