OnePlus Nord CE 2 will be the next mid-range smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer, which just yesterday officially confirmed its launch date, which is already less than a week away.

It is not exactly the first time that we have talked to you about this brand new smartphone by OnePlus since the practically complete technical data sheet and other details had already been leaked in recent days.

Waiting to know more about the talked about OnePlus 10 Ultra and the other interesting news that are on the horizon, let’s go once again into the technical specifications of the successor of the popular OnePlus Nord CE 5G.

OnePlus Nord CE 2: premises and disappointments

The information that we will shortly illustrate to you in detail came to the ear of MySmartPrice from the leaker Ishan Agarwal.

According to the latter, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 will be the second smartphone of the Chinese brand to have a dedicated slot for microSD cards, which will support up to the 1 TB cut.

Other interesting confirmations pertain to the display, which according to the source will be equipped with HDR10 + certification and protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass. All in a body that should weigh 173 grams overall and have a thickness of about 7.8 mm.

According to reports from Ishan, the new OnePlus smartphone could turn up one’s nose – and not a little – due to questionable choices in terms of software support (especially when compared to recent moves and not just the usual Samsung ): the leaker speaks of a launch with Android 11 out of the box.

Followed by two major Android updates, therefore Android 12 which has already been around for months and Android 13 which has just been released in the form of a developer preview, and three years of security patches.

Mind you, this is software support that for a mid-range we could define as standard, however, it would be preferable to see at least Android 12 already present at the time of launch.

OnePlus Nord CE 2: complete technical specifications

With these premises – complete with a preventive earshot at OnePlus for software support -, let’s go into the merits of the technical specifications and functions that according to the source will characterize the OnePlus Nord CE 2.

It starts from the display: it should be a 6.43-inch AMOLED type panel with Full HD + resolution and refresh rate (have you read our dedicated in-depth analysis ?) Up to 90 Hz. As already mentioned, the panel should also be HDR10 + certified. Below the screen will be the usual optical fingerprint sensor. All this leads us to assume that the OnePlus Nord CE 2 will not bring any improvement to the display of the model that preceded it.

Under the hood there will instead be a change of strategy: no longer a Qualcomm SoC as on the Nord CE 5G, but a MediaTe k as on the excellent Nord 2 5G. In particular, we are talking about the MediaTek Dimensity 900 at 6 nm with octa-core CPU, Mali G68 GPU and 5G modem. As for the battery, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 will resume the same capacity as its predecessor, therefore 4,500 mAh, but with a fast charge of more than doubled: there will be the SuperVOOC at 65 watts from OPPO.

As for the photographic sector, said that the official teaser confirmed an aesthetic approach similar to that of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G (here is our review ), on the back, there will be a triple camera. According to Ishan, it will have the following configuration: the main one with a 64-megapixel sensor, a secondary 8 megapixel one with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 119 ° Field of View and the last one with 2 MP (as always of dubious usefulness). Front the camera will be single and will be the usual 16 megapixels.

The memory cut reported provides 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage and among other features are a USB Type-C port, 3.5 mm audio jack input, MicroSD slot. The smartphone should be offered in two colors Gray Mirror and Bahamas Blue.
