Tesla’s electric supercar chief engineer jumped to Ford and designed Model S door handles

According to the latest reports, Tesla electric supercar chief engineer Alan Clarke has jumped to Ford. Alan Clarke, who has worked at Tesla for over a decade, started as a senior design engineer in 2009, working on several projects, including the Model S’s iconic door handle.

According to the LinkedIn page, Alan Clarke has participated in:

Four years ago, Alan Clarke was promoted to director of project engineering, leading the supercar Roadster project, vehicle architecture for the Model 3 and Model Y, and engineering of the Cybertruck electric pickup prototype.

Alan Clarke announced this week that he had accepted a position in Ford’s Advanced Electric Vehicle Development Team. He will join the team of Doug Field, who also held top engineering roles at Tesla for several years before moving to Ford after a stint at Apple.
