Vivo Pad: The specific protagonists in a new leak

It is clear that the BBK group is preparing its entry into the tablet market and that it also wants to do so with the launch of the rumored Vivo Pad. First, it was the turn of Realme Pad, but OPPO and OnePlus would also be preparing to do the same, expanding their respective ecosystems. Let’s see, therefore, how the first tablet signed Vivo should be, between technical data, price and release date.

Design and display

Let’s go straight to the heart with what could be the design of the Vivo Pad. The patents show us the images: as we can see, there is a photographic module at the top left, which follows the style of the sensors that characterize the brand’s smartphones.

The tablet would have a very thin metal unibody design with very optimized frames, as well as presenting a magnetic coupling presumably for the cover and keyboard. Among the accessories, there should also be a stylus for writing and drawing with the tablet.

Speaking of the display, Vivo Pad would be equipped with an 11 “punch-hole panel with 2.5K resolution ( 2560 x 1600 pixels) in 16:10 with 120 Hz refresh and HDR10 + and Dolby Vision support. The type of screen would be LCD, conforming to the medium-top range tablets that are arriving on the market.

Hardware and Software

It seems that the first tablet Vivo Pad will be equipped with the Snapdragon 870 chipset, the same one seen in the boron of Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro, and Lenovo XiaoXin Pad Pro 2021. So the presence of 5G cannot be excluded, perhaps even with a lot of eSIM support with eUICC chips. Recall that it is a 7 nm SoC with octa-core Kryo 585 CPU (1 x 3.2 GHz + 3 x 2.42 GHz + 4 x 1.8 GHz) and Adreno 650 GPU. memory, which according to a new leak are divided into 8 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of storage.

Moving on to the battery, we are talking about a unit from 8,040 mAh, with support for fast charging from 44W. On the camera side, there would be a 13 MP sensor with an 8 MP selfie camera and 2D facial unlocking and there would be stereo speakers.

While hardware can be crucial, having good software is also crucial. The first Vivo tablet would be equipped with a version of Origin OS 2.0 optimized for this type of device, as well as based on Android 12. It seems that we will also have the possibility to take advantage of screen sharing with Vivo devices, similar to what happens with other brands.

Price and release date

While precise details are missing, we have various clues. For example, a trademark registered (on June 18, 2021) with the EUIPO intellectual property body, refers to a product called Vivo Pad. The name was registered in Europe, a sign that the Chinese company intends – at least on paper – to bring its first tablet to us too.

Regarding the presentation date of the Vivo Pad, there are still no precise details: the debut is expected in the first half of 2022 and as soon as there is the news we will update this article with all the details.
