Apple proves the superiority of its chips

While the Galaxy S22 is the most powerful Android phone they’ve tested so far, by the newspaper’s own admission, its benchmark results are significantly lower than the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Looking at the results of the tests carried out with Geekbench.

It can be seen that Galaxy S22 Ultra (version with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1) scored 3433 points in multi-core, 1232 in single-core and 448 in machine learning tests. For its part, iPhone 13 Pro Max, in the same test achieved a score of 4647 in multi-core, 1735 n single-core and 948 in machine learning tests.

According to PCMag, Qualcomm has made a significant leap forward from the previous generation, in fact, “there is definitely an improvement over last year’s Snapdragon 888 in this year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. We saw a 13% increase in Geekbench single-core scores and a 9% increase in Geekbench multi-core scores. On the GFXBench graphics benchmark, we have seen an improvement of 20% or more depending on the circumstances ”.

As for the web benchmarking field tests, carried out with Basemark Web, iPhone 13 Pro Max doubled Samsung’s score: “On Basemark Web, a complete web benchmark, the Galaxy S22 series scored better than around 8 % compared to the Galaxy S21 Ultra. But the iPhone 13 Pro Max scored double the score of any Samsung model, as we have seen in the past, due to the differences between Apple’s Safari browser and the Google Chrome browser on Android phones.”

The tests also show how, the latest addition to Qualcomm, could suffer from problems related to overheating (which has already happened in the past with the Snapdragon 888) considering that during the tests Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra “warmed up quickly and as soon as it became hot and returned much lower results.
