Microsoft recently announced the launch of a new icon for the Windows Insider experience program. Microsoft says the new icon represents users who love and help shape the future of Windows through three internal channels Dev, Beta, and Release Preview.
Insider members of the Dev channel will soon see the icon under Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program. The new icon will also appear in emails and other areas.
Previously, Microsoft also announced the latest changes to the Windows Insider Program. The Dev channel will be where experimental features appear, while the Beta channel contains features that are closer to all users.
This could mean that new features will even appear first in the Beta channel if they are close to being announced. Microsoft also plans to give Windows 11 testers an option to switch from the Dev channel to the Beta channel to avoid more ongoing experimental features, according to Microsoft’s description.
