After publisher EA admitted that Battlefield 2042 fell short of expectations, several former Battlefield series developers took to social media to share their thoughts on the current state of Battlefield 2042.
First of all, David Goldfarb, the lead designer of Battlefield 3 and Bad Company 2, said: “I really don’t understand how these designs were chosen. Why no small infantry map? Why 128 players in battle without infantry. Land? Why are these maps released without even detailing them?
Is there no one in quality control? Who is responsible for remembering and passing on the experiences that made the Battlefield sandbox so proud? So many problems are obvious at a glance, and I am shocked that I can make mistakes again and again.
Jaqub Ajmal, a former DICE producer who has followed Battlefield 1942 all the way to Battlefield 5, added: I couldn’t finish the weekly missions in Battlefield 2042. That’s it from the start. It’s too time-consuming to play normally. Can’t catch up at all. I think it is necessary to take into account that players may not have as much time when designing. Battlefield 2042 is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in November 2021.
