Google is testing a great new feature for Gmail notifications

Gmail is said to soon annoy us with fewer notifications when we use the email service on multiple devices at the same time. There is usually an automatic notification as soon as you receive a new message or email in Gmail.

The emergence of notifications can be minimized if you only let yourself be informed about prioritized messages. Now Google has planned another option that will be of particular interest to users who use Gmail on their phones and computer.

Gmail: Superfluous notifications will soon no longer be necessary

A new option is planned that will automatically stop your mobile notifications when using Gmail on the web through your PC browser.

I myself use Gmail all day, but sometimes mostly on the PC. During this time, it would be very practical if the smartphone app did not display any additional notifications. This will soon be possible to configure.

Gmail is currently testing this new feature with its first users. It is not mentioned anywhere and is therefore probably still in a small test phase.

The user must agree to this function extraordinarily so that the browser can recognize when Gmail is being actively used in the browser. This is the only way to send the signal to the phone to suspend notifications for new e-mails.

To pause mobile Gmail notifications while you’re active on this device, let your browser detect whether you’re active or away. Click Next and then Allow when prompted by your browser.
