Sony announced the new title animation of the PlayStation Productions studio. PlayStation Productions was established in 2019 and focuses on adapting its game IP into film and television dramas with Sony Pictures.
The Uncharted movie was the studio’s first release with a $120 million production budget. Like the opening animation used on PlayStation Game Studio in 2020, the new version of the opening animation mainly focuses on SIE game characters from “Uncharted”, “Horizon”, “The Last of Us”, “God of War”, ” Ratchet and Clank, LittleBigPlanet, etc.

PlayStation Productions is led by Sony senior marketing manager Asad Qizilbash, who is also the product lead for the PlayStation studio group.
He told the New York Times last year: “We have three goals, growing audiences for games, bringing products to Sony Pictures, showcasing synergies.”
When asked if it would affect the Uncharted franchise if the film adaptation fails, Qizilbash replied: “It’s risky, but we think we can do it.”
After a six-month delay, the “Uncharted” movie was released in 15 regions around the world on February 11. Although the word of mouth was mediocre, it made a good start at the box office.
