For a few weeks, the Paranoid Android, one of the most popular and appreciated custom ROMs as well as a veteran of the world of modding, has returned to be talked about with the transition to Android 12 and now the Alpha 2 version is available for four other Xiaomi branded models. and POCO.

Given that these are neither the first models ever to receive the Paranoid Android Sapphire Alpha 2 nor the first of these two brands, let’s get to the point.

The Alpha 2 version of the Paranoid Android Sapphire based on Android 12 is officially available for POCOPHONE F1, Xiaomi Mi 8, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s and Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. In all four cases at the base, we find the Linux 4.9 kernel and code from Code Aurora Forums.

Of course, since we are talking about building alpha, it would be unrealistic to expect ROMs already free of important bugs, and in fact, in the thread dedicated to Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, the failure of the slider gestures has already been highlighted.

As for the custom ROM itself, Paranoid Android Sapphire is based on the latest version of Android currently available in a stable version; previous releases included customizations for the navigation bar, options to turn Wi-Fi / mobile data / VPN on or off on a per-app basis, a screen recorder well before Android had one built-in, extended screenshots taken from the Pixel Experience, and more other.

Say, unlike other famous custom ROM such as LineageOS (for which we have recently reported important news ), Paranoid Android also integrates Google Mobile Services (GMS), of which perhaps some more savvy users would have preferred to do less.

If you own one of the four smartphones mentioned and want to install the latest release of this custom ROM, here are the download links and complete instructions:
