Did you know that by messing with MIUI, with Xiaomi smartphones it is possible to enable the partial screenshot mode? Even if it is a function integrated into the Xiaomi interface, not all smartphones can use it as it may be absent or blocked.
Precisely for this reason, I have decided to show you a quick (and no modding) method to unlock this very useful feature. It will surely have happened to you at least once that you want to take a screenshot of a limited portion of the screen instead of the entire display. The partial screenshot option is useful in this regard, being able to manually choose the shape and size of the screenshot.
Here’s how to enable partial screenshots on Xiaomi smartphones
To enable partial screenshots on Xiaomi smartphones on which it does not appear, you must first download the SetEdit app from the Google Play Store. Once downloaded, here’s how to proceed:
- Open the SetEdit app
- Click on + Add new setting at the top
- Write the following command: three_gesture_long_press and click on Save changes
- Write the following command: partial_screen_shot and click on Save changes
- Check in the list (check letter T) that this entry has been added
If you have done everything correctly, just go to Settings/Additional settings/Gesture connection/Partial screenshot and enable the present toggle.
By doing so, just hold down on the screen with three fingers to activate partial screenshots on your Xiaomi smartphone. The special UI will allow you to choose between square/rectangular, round and customized shapes (just draw the shape you prefer with your finger).
