Unreal Engine 5 is now in preview

According to Unreal Engine official news, Unreal Engine 5 has now launched a preview version, reaching the next milestone. The official said that in this preview version, we hope to invite creators from all walks of life to test it.

But be warned: while your existing workflow is supported and you should be able to work in UE5 the same way you did in UE4, some important new features like Lumen and Nanite are not yet working non-game verified in the process.

The official also pointed out that the preview version still has instability and other problems and should not be used in production. If you wish to experiment with new tools and workflows using existing projects, we recommend that you back up these projects.

However, we welcome you to fully test these tools and help us identify any remaining issues so we can fix them in the final release. Please log any issues you encounter on our bug reporting page.

Last year, Unreal Engine 5 launched an early access version, and the official also used this version to create a technical demonstration “The Matrix Awakens: Unreal Engine 5 Experience”.
