Google canceled some mandatory measures to prevent the new crown epidemic and restored the benefits of employees at its headquarters. It is clear that it is preparing for the return of employees. In an email to Bay Area employees, Google executives said the company is easing some requirements for vaccines, testing, social distancing, masks.
A Google spokesman told the media that the company is adjusting its policy to no longer require vaccinations to hire American workers.
Some employee benefits at Google headquarters are also being restored, such as massages and use of informal spaces. Soon Google will implement a hybrid office model, requiring most employees to come to the office at least three days a week.
Google issued an order in January requiring employees to undergo nucleic acid testing when entering office areas, even those who have been vaccinated, but now the Bay Area is dropping that requirement. Also, in most areas, if employees are vaccinated, social distancing and mask requirements can be waived, although a few cities still require masks, but this requirement may soon be lifted as well.
