The social news platform Reddit is launching a new interface for iOS and Android for the first time in two years. This should make it easier for Reddi users worldwide to discover communities and content that match their interests. The Discover tab acts as a navigation tool through the topics on the platform.
The Discover tab shows new communities based on those that Reddit users are already members of or have spent significant time on. The goal is suitable suggestions that are likely to strike a chord with the searcher.
To access the new tab, tap the new compass icon in the bottom bar, to the left of the home button. At the top of the Discover tab, the feed can be filtered by a specific topic to find new content and communities. Below the topic filters is the feed where the content is displayed.
Along with the Discover tab, Reddit is introducing two more user interfaces designed to help organize and prioritize communities in the app.
- Community Overview: Reddit users can access their communities and custom feeds faster than before by swiping right or tapping the dropdown menu in the top left corner of the home screen.
- Profile Overview: Reddit is also introducing a profile drawer that Reddit users can use to view and customize their profile by swiping left or tapping their profile icon in the top-right corner of their home screen.
