Samsung is surprisingly updating Galaxy Fit 2 with new features

A year and a half after launch, we thought we had seen everything about Galaxy Fit 2. All attention is focused on the new Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic, more sophisticated and advanced devices that have also marked the return to Wear OS after the Tizen parenthesis. It is therefore difficult to expect that Samsung could still think about its latest smart band. And yet, surprisingly, this is not the case.

The Korean giant has in fact just begun to distribute the R220XXU1AVB8 firmware for Galaxy Fit 2. And this is not an update that only improves system stability and file experience, but there is also real news in the package.

The main one is certainly the arrival of the ” Camera Controller “: the classic function, common among wrist wearables, which allows you to take pictures with your smartphone, however, by acting on the shutter that appears on the smart band display. For this to work, the Galaxy Fit 2 will need to be connected to the phone, of course, and the device in question is equipped with at least Android 7.0 Nougat.

Another new feature that the Samsung smart band earns is the ability to send a message following a rejected call. And finally, there is also an addition for the sportsmen, namely the ability to keep track of rope jumps.

If you are a Galaxy Fit 2 owner and want to experience these new features, to proceed with the firmware download you will need to open the Galaxy Wearable app (making sure you have updated it to the latest version). After doing so, the settings “Labs” and “Call rejection messages” will appear in the settings of the smart band.
