Cyberpunk 2077 VR mode MOD demo plans to release this weekend

The VR mod for Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to be officially released this week. The mod is provided by mod author Luke Ross, who previously made VR mods for Red Dead Redemption 2 and Horizon: Zero Dawn.

The mod was originally scheduled to be released in January, titled Cyberpunk 2077 REAL VR, but alas, it didn’t add support for VR controllers, relying instead on traditional controls.

You can see a demo of the mod in the video below, in which Luke Ross looks at his surroundings, demonstrates map and menu navigation, drives around Night City in the first and third person, and, of course, also Participates in a large shootout.

Luke Ross also analyzed some key points in the video. The performance is “pretty good for such a complex and modern game,” he said, saying he hit 60 fps at 2700×2700, compared to the typical frame rate of 80-90 frames. Also, Luke Ross has a very powerful computer and he recorded this video with an i9-9900k and an RTX 3090.

Interestingly, Luke Ross also stated that the game works best in low-resolution VR environments: “This way, you get an amazing level of clarity and detail. Conversely, turning the settings up actually blurs the field of vision in VR. Luke Ross didn’t provide an exact release date, but he emailed PCGamer that the mod should launch this weekend.
