Pokémon GO, how many news in March

With the celebrations of Pokémon Day now behind us, Pokémon GO is preparing to celebrate the launch of the seventh generation, which took place today. This means that it is now possible to catch the first wave of Pokémon from the Alola region, which first appeared in Sun and Moon on Nintendo 3DS.

Obviously, we start with the Alola starters, so from today, it is possible to add Rowlet, Litten, Popplio and their respective evolutions to your team, in addition to the legendary Pokémon Tapu Koko and many others originating from the tropical region, including Yungoos, Pikipek, Rockruff and all their evolutions.

To celebrate the occasion, a special Collection Challenge has also been included and it has already been announced that the new Community Day dedicated to Sandshrew will be held on March 13th in both its versions, both that of Kanto and that of Alola.

THE ALOLA SEASON STARTS

For some time now, Pokémon GO has introduced the mechanism of the seasons, which introduces particular bonuses and innovations for a period of about 3 months. In this case, the Season of Alola has just begun, which introduces some changes to the aroma mechanics (now it lasts longer, but there are fewer Pokémon if you don’t move), more free raid tickets per day and one new series of Pokémon that can be found in eggs.

In addition to this, there is also much news for PvP fans, given that the new Intermezzo Season kicks off today, which will present challenges and Leagues with always different rules on a weekly basis. On this occasion, the rankings will also be restored and end-of-season prizes will be made available.

THE GLOBAL EVENTS CONTINUE

The seventh-generation debuts a few days after the last Pokémon GO world event, or the Johto Tour which was held last Saturday. This was an opportunity for countless trainers to complete the Generation II Pokédex – hence the Pokémon introduced in Gold and Silver – as many incredibly rare regional, such as Corsola and Heracross, were made available during the event.

In addition to this, the event also introduced for the first time the new Apex versions of the two legendary symbols of the second generation, namely Lugia and Ho-Oh. With the debut of the Apex forms, Niantic has further empowered Shadow Pokémon by equipping them with unique attacks ( they are recognized because there is a + in addition to the name of the attack ) that make them even more performing in different aspects of the game, including the PvP.

But not only new Pokémon, but also a lot of attention to the classic mechanics typical of the games that inspired the event. An example above all is the appearance of the famous legendary dogs Entei, Suicune and Raikou on the game map, which could not be captured in the traditional way.

The trio, in fact, automatically fled when a Poké Ball was thrown to imitate the same mechanics with which they appeared in the main games; fortunately in this case it was enough to take a photo, in order to complete a dedicated Collection Challenge that allowed all the coaches to get their hands – perhaps even in a chromatic version – on the three legendaries.

Over the past few months, Pokémon GO has continued to offer special events non-stop, managing to ensure a constant update of the contents. With the debut of the seventh generation, the start of the new season of challenges in the GO Battle League and the next Community Day, the game is even more full of things to do; if you’ve been away for a long time, now is the time to return to Pokémon GO.
