Only yesterday we saw new clues relating to the arrival of and reactions to Whatsapp messages on Android and it seems that in parallel we are also working on their introduction in the desktop version. As usual, the very attentive WABetainfo realizes this, which in the last beta has found the first signs of the new function.
Version 2.2208.1. seems to be a step away from its introduction and you can tell by a small change to the user interface, as evidenced by the screenshot below.
It seems that reactions to messages can be selected in two distinct ways: in addition to the emoji button next to the message, the option will also appear in the drop-down menu. In this case, it will be necessary to perform an extra step, but comfort aside, it is a clear sign that something is moving.
At the moment the selection of the reaction to a message does not work and the button does not open any selection window, however, it is very likely that its activation will come following the introduction on mobile.
Whatsapp is certainly one of the most up-to-date messaging services and this is demonstrated by the many, albeit small, news that is slowly arriving in recent weeks. Staying on the subject of the desktop version, the long-awaited dark theme arrived at the beginning of February.
